golf and ice cream

This weekend the girls went golfing with their daddy and Grampy.   They went to a "real" course where the goal was to have the girls play nine holes.  Now the girls all have real clubs (a gift from Grampy) and have gone to the driving range, played around on a putting green, and have taken golf lessons.  My hubby and his dad love to golf and decided to get the girls involved too.  However, the girls have never been to a "real" course where they could use their skills.  When the girls found out they were going golfing for real they were sooo excited!  They picked out just the right outfits, the right hats, and made sure that all their gear was set.   I was super excited to have the house to myself for a few hours.  I'm all for the girls taking up this hobby with their daddy.

Posing in their golf gear.  They picked out their outfits - even the hats.

How cute are they with their clubs?!

Complete concentration!

The goal was for the girls to play nine holes.  Gracie was able to play all nine without a problem.  Emma played 7 and then took a little break.  Lily, as you can see, only made it to the second hole and decided she was tired.  She took a rest on the greens.  Her caddy (Grampy) ended up carrying her and her clubs.  Needless to say, she will not be invited to golf again until she's a little older.  I'll have to wait a while before I get the house to myself again.

*Thanks to my hubby and my father-in-law for taking pictures.  My hubs wasn't so sure he wanted to lug my camera around, but I'm glad he did.  I think he was glad too.

After the big golf outing, we had dinner and then decided to head out for ice cream.  We went to a cute little town not too far from us that has beautiful waterfalls from the Cuyahoga River and a yummy ice cream shop.   My grandparents used to take my brother and I there when we were young.  I have such fond memories of going there when I was little, that I always enjoy taking the girls there.  We took our puppy, Sugar, with us.  We've turned into THAT family that takes their dog everywhere with them.  Oh well!

Lily loved watching the water.

I loved this group of boys - they were giving our Sugar some love.

The waterfalls.

The girls enjoying their ice cream.  The flavor - birthday cake.

I love the look of the buildings.  This town has such cute shops and restaurants.  It was a great evening!
