hoot! hoot!

Every so often, an owl visits our yard.   The land next to our yard is a wooded nature preserve.  There are all kinds of wildlife living in the woods next to us.  Our family's favorite though, are the owls.  You can hear them hooting at night, which is a very cool sound.  Throughout the year, every now and then, one will show up in a tree near our house.   Sometimes in the morning, sometimes in the afternoon, sometimes in the dead of winter, sometimes in summer.   We always get excited when there is an owl sighting in the yard.

A barred owl
