Hee Haw!

My hubby and I went out on a date last night.  Well, sort of a date.  He had to attend the Tim McGraw concert for work and was able to bring his spouse - me.   My in-laws watched the girls overnight and that was very nice.  So we went out together without our children and had a fun time.   I guess that technically is a date.  However, it was something he had to do for work and we had to chat it up with work people while we were there.  The work people were nice and easy to chat with, but still not something you do on a real date.
Now, you should know that I don't really enjoy country music.  There are a few country songs here and there that I like, but overall, you would not find my radio turned to a country station.  I do like Tim McGraw though - he seems nice, I like the movie he was in "The Blind Side", oh and he's cute.  I was up for a night out and was excited to get out of the house with my hubby.

Here's the date night rundown -

  • We waited in two hours of traffic to get to the venue.  Tim draws a HUGE crowd.

  • Since we were stuck in traffic we missed the pre-show that we had passes to.  It was a short backstage concert that Tim gave to around a 100 people.  Even though I'm not a country fan, I was bummed we missed it.  Oh well - we still had a good time.

  • There was lots of walking once we got there.  We had great seats, they were well worth the walk to get to them.

  • Lots of prime people watching was going on - I was wondering if some people there even owned a mirror.

  • I had a $6 bottle of lemonade.  Yes, $6!  Can you believe it?!  No it wasn't a magic bottle of lemonade, but a bottle of Minute Maid that I can buy at Walmart for 75 cents.  Why do they always jack the prices up everywhere you go?

  • I admit I got caught up in the hype when Tim McGraw first came on stage.  Yes, I did scream and clap.

  • We left the show a little early to be sure we didn't get caught in traffic again on the way out.

  • The date ended with a trip through the McDonald's drive-thru for cheeseburgers.  Nothing beats a late night burger from McD's.

  • The best part though, was that the kiddies were at my in-laws and we didn't have to put them to bed and we got to sleep in a little the next morning.  :)

The crazy crowds on the lawn.   Luckily we had seats in the pavilion.
