Lily's day out

On Thursday,  Lily and I went to Memphis Kiddie Park with some of the kids in her preschool class.  One of the moms thought it would be nice to schedule an outing for the kiddies before preschool officially started.  Memphis Kiddie Park is a cute little amusement park with old school kiddie rides.  You have to be under 50 inches tall to ride almost all of the rides.  I think there are about a dozen rides in the park.  So it's a small park, but lots of fun.  Lily really enjoyed herself.  We carpooled with my friend, Sarah, and her son Philip.  It was nice to chit chat with Sarah and Lily liked hanging out with Philip.

Lily and Philip riding on the rockets.

Lily loved the spinning jeeps.  She kept hollering back to Philip, who was also having fun spinning around.

Being silly on the train ride.

Working hard on the hand peddle train.

Lily riding her favorite horse.

Philip and Lily were convinced they were really racing each other on the race cars.  She got so tickled when she thought she was winning.

Oh, the yellow balloon.  She loved this balloon and spun in circles while watching it blow around in the wind.  Then tragedy struck and the balloon slipped off her wrist and floated away.  The second she got the balloon, I just knew it wasn't going to last.  Lily was heartbroken!  Luckily, we were able to secure another yellow balloon and all was right with the world again.  The second time around, the balloon was tied TIGHTLY to my backpack until we reached the car.

I had a great day at the park with my Lily bug.  It's fun to spend some special time with her while her sisters are in school.  I have to enjoy it while I can, next year she'll be in school all day too.

  2. Kim - love love Memphis Kiddie Park and have many memories of going there myself as a kid and taking all 3 of mine. I'm sad they are in school all day and no longer can enjoy those May/Sept days at the park when the crowds are lighter!!! We've since graduated to Cedar Point but Tiernan still asks about it since he is the only one that truly can still enjoy these little rides!!!!

Glad she had a great day!
